Things to do
German cities have a well-developed public transport system, allowing for tourists to easily travel from city to city. Many of these destinations have great historical and architectural attractions, including the Reichstag building in Berlin, Munich's Town Hall, the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt, Cologne Cathedral, and the 'Altstadt' in Hamburg.

Shops
Shopping in Berlin is an all-day event, with the city's main shopping district being Kurfurstendamm. One of the main shopping districts in Munich is Kaufingerstrasse where department stores can be found. Cologne has several pedestrian streets, which offer interesting clothes shops. Frankfurt boasts excellent shopping and is home to the Zeil, Germany's equivalent to New York's Fifth Avenue. Jungfernstieg on the Alster is Hamburg's shopping district with exquisite retail outlets.

Dining
Traditional German beer is a speciality in all German cities, particularly in Munich, in the famous Hofbrauhaus. In terms of gourmet cuisine, Hamburg ranks in the top position with its scenic bars along the River Elbe. Sample traditional currywurst (sausage covered in curry powder and ketchup) and a delicious salty pretzel.
