This is an excellent hotel that has a distinctive atmosphere of history and mystery with a wonderful setting. Hotel also offers complimentary car parking. (09/08rt)The rooms are all individually decorated and contain all the facilities one would expect of an International hotel. There is a tiny old tower bedroom which many tourists visit and it is known as the ghost room. Lady Isobel Shaw is said to have thrown herself out, having been locked up by her cruel husband. All rooms renovated in 1999 or later. This hotel is situated on the scenic Antrim coast road, only 20 minutes from Belfast. It faces the soft sandy beach of Ballygalley Bay and is an ideal spot for touring. The garden restaurant is beautifully appointed and overlooks the castle grounds. It offers both a la carte and table d'hote menus. The dungeon bar is situated in the cellars of the old fortress. The original part of this building dates back from 1625. It is therefore an historic building with beautiful gardens surrounding. The original entrance to the Castle is the lobby area of the hotel. There is a large reception desk and armchairs in an impressive setting.
