In the north-eastern region of the Lake lies Suasi, a private 43-hectare island where everything is different: dawn, rain, storms, twilight. Closer to the sun and the moon, Suasi offers a unique way to know the Titicaca, a burst of magic inviting introspection. The hotel is located over a smooth and sheltered hill, a peaceful view point, surrounded by flowers and gardens. Built with local materials such as wood, stones and totora reed, the hotel features two levels and operates entirely with solar energy. Guests can enjoy activities like trekking through paths to see Andean flora and fauna, as well as a canoe ride around the island, also beautiful sunsets can be appreciated from their rooms or visit the cultural hut and learn about the highlands communities. There are several ways to get to Suasi Island; travelers can access by land or by lake. Casa Andina recommends taking the lacustrine route to get to Suasi (in the way Uros and Taquile islands can be visited), for the way back to Puno or Juliaca, we recommend the land route, which borders the Titicaca through a small road with spectacular views of the Lake.
