Originally a hospice run by monks in the early 17th century and later a customs house, this seafront B&B with views of the Menai Strait and Snowdonia is 7 minutes' walk from the moated Beaumaris Castle.
Simple, elegant rooms, some with 18th-century pine panelling and chandeliers, feature en suite bathrooms, tea and coffeemaking facilities and Internet access. There's 1 with a working Georgian fireplace and a soaking tub, and another adding a barrel ceiling.
Breakfast is served in the bright communal dining room. There's also a cosy guest sitting room, with sea views and a fireplace, that can be reserved for meetings.
