In the shade of a 500-year-old oak tree, this family-run inn built from local slate is situated in the village of Balmaha on the shores of Loch Lomond along the West Highland Way walking trail.
Modern rooms all have en suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Some are above the pub or in cottages a few minutes' walk from the main building, and there's a bunkhouse with rooms sleeping 4 people.
A free breakfast buffet is included. The snug bar made from a 300-year old elm tree stocks 50 types of malt whisky, and a restaurant serves pub meals. There's also a garden overlooking the loch and an adjoining ice cream parlour.
