Family-run, traditional inn located in a quiet National park village near Pickering, the beautiful North York Moors and the scenic Heritage Coast, offering good home-cooked food, real ales and roaring log fires. Recently taken back into family ownership by the Frank family, The Moors Inn is located in the quiet village of Appleton-le-Moors on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, within the popular National Park. The Inn, dating back to the 18th Century is a grade II listed building and has been restored by the current owners to reflect its past whilst providing modern comforts and a high standard of accommodation. The location is peaceful and picturesque, and perfect for both quiet relaxation and more active visitors. Listed in the Good Pub Guide, the Moors Inn offers peaceful and relaxing accommodation and a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to unwind. Rooms are located both above the main pub building, overlooking the village street and in converted barns found to the rear of the property. All rooms are en-suite with a shower and boast a range of home comforts to enhance your stay televisions, shaver points, hairdryers and tea & coffee facilities all come as standard. Twin and Double bedded rooms are available and pets are welcomed at no extra charge. An extensive menu with traditional home cooked British dishes is available daily, with in season local ingredients the flavour of the day: many of the vegetables and salads are home grown in the Landlord s allotment just 2 miles from the pub and local gamekeepers, butchers and farmers are utilised to source the finest regional produce. Hand pulled local ales, a concise wine list and a large selection of malt whiskeys are available to accompany your meal, as well as a good selection of non alcoholic beverages. Diners can choose between a table in either the bar or the small dining room, both of which boast warming open fires. Popular with residents and locals alike, booking in advance is highly recommended. The Moors Inn is located in the unspoilt and lesser known village of Appleton-le-Moors, positioned just off the A170 and in an ideal location for touring the area. The North York Moors National Park, a popular destination for walkers, is located on the village s doorstep, while the Heritage Coast, with the famous towns of Scarborough and Whitby, is just a short drive away. The city of York is less than an hour s drive away, while the A1, also just an hour away, gives easy access to the major cities of Leeds and Newcastle, with their international airports. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway operates steam trains along an 18 mile line between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont, through the heart of the North York Moors National Park Free Wi-Fi is available but only in reception.
