Situated in the Makuleke region in the northernmost part of Kruger National Park, The Outpost rests high on a hill overlooking the floodplains of the Limpopo and Luvuvhu rivers. This region is bordered to the north by Zimbabwe and to the East by Crooks Corner and Mozambique. Measuring 24 000 hectares the region is well known for its abundant wildlife and excellent birding including less common species not evident in the southern and central regions of the park. Guests are accommodated in 12 stand-alone en-suite rooms that are placed alongside a walkway halfway up a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu river. The style is Contemporary Africa and the emphasis is on understated luxury in a wilderness setting. The modern design with fold-away sides allows for 180-degree views of the Luvuvhu River Valley and the open feel of the rooms extends into the bathroom where guests have a view as far as Mozambique.
