Bergen is a city on the southwest coast of Norway and it is the country's second largest city. It is the capital of the county of Hordaland. The city is set in a valley formed by the Seven Mountains, very popular in the area. The place has many charming streets and little alleyways, and a lovely old town where you can see some of the attractive regional architecture, museums, art galleries, concerts and many shops. The area has some splendid natural attractions. For example, you can get to know some of the seven mountains and enjoy the incredible views from the summits. It is a wonderful place to relax in the peace and silence of nature. Furthermore, the city is the gateway to the beautiful Norwegian fjords. If you want to see some of the city's sites, go to the Fish Market and the historic quayside of Bryggen, which dates to the Hanseatic period. Bergen is a beautiful city and an important centre, full of cultural attractions, a number of museums and art galleries and it is one of the few cities that features on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
