El Paso is situated in west Texas. It is a very popular city with close to 700,000 people. It stands on the Rio Grande River across the border from Juarez, Mexico, and it is the largest bilingual work force in the Americas. Nicknamed "The Sun City", El Paso has a rich cultural history that attracts visitors from all over the world. Major Attractions Wyler Aerial Tramway is operated by Texas Parks and wildlife and is a great place to get an aerial view of El Paso, New Mexico, and Juarez, Mexico. The tram only holds six passengers, and to avoid long lines it is recommended to go early.

Franklin Mountain State Park is the largest urban park in the nation. It is completely within the city limits, but there are hiking trails, tent camping sites, ranger programs, and sites for rock climbing, hiking, and biking. The National Border Patrol Museum is a popular place to visit. It chronicles the journey through history of border patrol from the beginning during the old west, through prohibition, and into the high-tech patrol of today. You can see uniforms equipment, guns, boats, and documents from history. The best part is that admission is free The Plaza Theater stands as one of the city's most well known historic buildings and features traveling Broadway productions, musicals, and a diversity of individual performers.

The YDSP Tigua Indian Cultural Center and Museum includes a Pueblo Museum and the Alderette-Candelaria House. One can watch traditional Indian social dances, visit a gift shop that sells Tigua crafts, and grab a nice lunch at the cafe. The El Paso Museum of Art has eleven galleries in its collection with an impressive collection of contemporary art from throughout the region. It has over 6000 works of art, and its goal is to be a cultural and educational resource for the diversity that exists in the region. The Abraham Chavez Theatre is located next to the convention center. It is worth it to just go to view the theater because it is a very distinct building. It's three-story high and very unique sombrero shaped building. The University of Texas at El Paso has the Centennial Museum and Chihuahua Desert Gardens that displays cultural and natural history. Hueco Tanks State Historic Site is an impressive place to visit for geological formations and ancient pictographs. The park spans more than 860 acres is named for its large rock basins or "huecos". Reservations must be made in advance as only 70 people are allowed in the park at time, and guided tours of the Mescalero Apaches pictographs are a must.
