Medford is a city in Jackson County in the US state of Oregon and 27 miles north of the California border. This article outlines 8 of the best sights to see and visit during a stay in Medford. Alba Park This is the oldest park in the city of Medford and is located close to the Medford Carnegie Library. It was once called Library Park but since changed its name to Alba, after the city in Italy in which Medford is partnered. A full day of leisure can be enjoyed at Alba Park, which includes walk trails, picnic areas, statues, fountains and a gazebo.

There is also a Japanese gun from World War 2. A fair takes place at the park annually to coincide with the Pear Blossom Run which attracts competitive and fun runners. Claire Hanley Arboretum Still on the 'green' theme, the second sight of interest for tourists is the Claire Hanley Arboretum. Sisters Claire and Mary Hanley first planted a tree here in 1962 and it is now part of the Oregon State University research programme into agriculture with its many species. Medford Carnegie Library A two-story building in downtown Medford and close to Alba Park, the library is a fine example of historic Medford architecture. It was built in 1911 but in 2004 the library itself was moved to the Rogue Community College. It is now used for conventions, events, public meetings and government work.

Bear Creek Park Bear Creek Park, like Alba Park, can be entertainment for a full day for a tourist. It includes four tennis courts, a large playground for children, a skate park and BMX track, a park for dog walking and a community garden. The weather in Medford is mild and best visited in the summer, where the family can enjoy the various open green spaces and places to walk around at leisure. I.O.O.F Eastwood Historic Cemetery Free tours are offered at this cemetery, which was set up in 1890 and is the burial ground for many of Medford's former citizens.

Roxy Ann Peak A 30 million year old dormant volcano, this is one of Medford's must-see tourist attractions. It lies in a park of protected land, called Prescott Park. Vogel Plaza medford oregonMany local events are held here such as the Art in Bloom festival, which attracts around 10,000 visitors over the two day show, over 75 artists, workshops, entertainment and good food. The Vogel Plaza has been open since 1997 and is located in downtown Medford. Bear Creek Corporation The company behind the fruit gift baskets, the Bear Creek Corporation, started in Medford and there are tours of the plant open for tourists. All in all, there is plenty to explore while staying at Medford, plus lots of choice when it comes to accommodation and restaurants, making it an ideal holiday destination.
