Nashville, or "Music City", is filled with history, art, and maybe most importantly, country music. It is a city that is growing at a rapid pace and has many historic treasures and landmarks. With that being said, visitors to Nashville are most interested in the country music scene and its accompanying history. Music City Attractions Upon arrival into Nashville, visitors usually flock to the location of Music Valley. The most popular attraction in the city is arguably the Grand Ole Opry and located in Music Valley. It's an American icon and possibly the most famous stage in America. It is also the longest running live radio show. It showcases both country music legends and upcoming stars.

Also in Music Valley is the Country Music Hall of Fame, another iconic landmark for country music fans. It chronicles many famous country music stars from Hank Williams to Taylor Swift. It also houses a Taylor Swift Education Center with classrooms and a learning lab. Attractions near the convention center include the Ryman Auditorium. Originally built in 1892, it is one of the most famous venues for music in the country. Top-notch acoustics and a very welcoming feel are two cornerstones of the auditorium. Many journeys have started here for music stars. The Earnest Tub Record Shop is in the heart of Nashville and not only does it have a huge selection of all types of music, it is jam packed with history. Earnest Tub, who was a star of the Grand Ole Opry, opened it in 1947.

The Schermerhorn Symphony Center is home to the Nashville Symphony and opened in 2006. The architecture was inspired by some of the world's great concert halls, many of which were built in Europe. Belle Meade Plantation is an elegant antebellum mansion on 30 acres just south of Nashville. It is charming and quaint and includes eight historic buildings dating from 1792. There is also a museum that brings the history alive and is a tribute to classical architecture and one of the best museums in the area. The collection has it works from artists both the 19th and 20th style and contemporary Athenian sculptures.

There is no shortage of shopping in Nashville, and there are many mainstream malls that can cater to all needs. Ten miles east of the Nashville Airport is the Providence Market Place. With a diverse mixture of department stores, boutiques, and restaurants, it is a more local venue for shopping. There is the Rivergate Mall, Stones River Mall, Global Mall at The Crossings, and the popular 100 Oaks Mall that is within minutes from downtown.

A couple other unique shopping experience include: Opry Mills features specialty shops, major retails, and a diversity of restaurants; it also is a great place for entertainment. There is the IMAX theater, the Rainforest Cafe an Aquarium, and many other places to explore. The Arcade is the city's oldest mall and located downtown. It is over 100 years old and worth the visit because there are few malls of its kind in the world. There are also many great places to dine in this area. Nashville is the place to visit for the country music fan. There is so much to see and do here that a prioritized list is a must.
