Major Attractions Upon arrival in Philadelphia, most tourists head for Independence National Historical Park. It is where the Liberty Bell Center is located, and where Independence Hall is housed. It is a great place to learn about colonial America. As one of the most important political cities in history, the park is made up of twenty blocks with cobblestone streets and dozens of historical homes. Shops at Liberty Place have an impressive array of 60 retail stores. 9th Street Italian market is one of the oldest working markets in the US; along this historic street are the sounds and smells that remind one of the 1900s. Today's outdoor market has cookwares, antiques, and fresh ethnic foods including Greek, Vietnamese, and Italian. There is no shortage to what one can do in Philadelphia.
