St George is a city in the US state of Utah that has grown in popularity in recent years. In fact, it was named the second fastest-growing area in the US in 2005 and 2007 and although the economic climate slowed this down, it is still a popular tourist destination. It is a cultural city, with many performance, music and art offerings for those who visit. The most notable museums and galleries to discover on your travels include the St. George Art Museum, the Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum, the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site and the St George Children's Museum.

Every Spring, St. George plays host to an Arts Festival, with a sponsored art in the park event and concert at Vernon Worthen Park. The Southwest Symphony Orchestra and the Southern Utah Heritage Choir also hold a number of popular concerts in the area, attracting large crowds. St. George Opera House, which is also known as the St. George Social Hall, is a popular building of historic note and was originally a wine cellar but was expanded to hold various theater productions. In 1936 it was sold to the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company and in 1988 was turned into an opera house and opened up to the public.

An enjoyable evening can be spent in St. George with many places to eat, with food to suit all tastes. Many people also choose to visit the historic Electric Theater on Tabernacle Street for its live music entertainment. st george utahDixie State University (which was formerly Dixie State College) is located at St George and hosts the annual Spring Break Concert, as well as the Celebrity Concert Series.

The largest venue in St. George is the Dixie Convention Center which is a place for concerts and major events such as UFC Cage Fighting and various expo events. Many visitors head to the Dixie for a variety of events and performances. Sport lovers will know of St. George because of the number of important sporting events which take place there. These include the St. George marathon every October (which is used as a qualifier for the Boston marathon and is the 13th largest marathon in the US), the Huntsman World Senior Games and the St. George Ironman Triathlon. All of these draw high participant numbers and crowds of spectators.

Tourists in St. George can enjoy their leisure time at the many award-winning golf courses, the trails which span 65 miles and the various parks, including Canyons Softball Complex, Pioneer Park and Tonaquint Nature Center. There are also a number of recreation centers and the Sand Hollow Aquatics Center, plus skate parks and fishing ponds. There is something for all of the family, even the dogs, thanks to dedicated dog park spaces. St. George Municipal Airport in the southeast is the main airport for travel and there is currently no rail service at St. George. Most people use the SunTran bus transportation system, which has four fixed-routes and over 100 bus stops across the city. Alternatively car and bicycle hire is popular, as is exploring the area by foot.
