The city of Torun is located in the north of Poland, on the banks of the River Vistula. The city is the capital of the province of Kujawy and Pomerania, and it is the birthplace of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Torun has been UNESCO World Heritage since 1997. We recommend visiting the Town Hall tower, located in the Old Town, which offers fantastic views of the city; the Planetarium; the Church of the Virgin Mary; the Church of St Jacob and the Church of St Stephen. Torun also has a number of museums, including the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum, the Travellers' Museum, the Wozownia Art Gallery and the Na Pietrze Gallery. No visitor should miss a tour of the old town by night, as the views are wonderful and seeing the illuminated monuments reflected in the River Vistula is a unique experience. Discover this fascinating city where every corner hides something interesting. Visit Torun!
