Things to do
Lille is home to a number of interesting museums, including the National History museum, the fine arts museum and the Charles de Gaulle museum. Its stone cobbled streets and 17th century architecture hint at its Flemish roots. If visiting Saint-Omer, a must see is the beautiful Cathedral, steeped in wonderful artworks and architecture. The beach in Le Touquet is quite stunning, with miles of white sands, the perfect place for a relaxing day.

Shopping
Each district of Lille offers a different shopping experience. Luxury goods and antiques can be found in Old Lille, whereas the department stores and international brands are on offer in the central and Euralille areas. There are a host of fantastic shopping destinations across Northern France from markets to boutraves and department stores.

Dining
In Lille, the best French beers are on tap and served in the most popular bars. Sample some of the delicious cuisine, including Carbonnade (beef stewed in beer), Waterzoi (Chicken or fish in a creamy sauce) and moules frites (mussels and chips). In Saint-Omer there are some lovely places to eat in, from street cafes to top end restaurants and quaint little bars.
