The Berkeley was built in 1803 by the Hamilton family, situated on the edge of Ayr, the property overlooks Wellington Gardens and is within a 1 minute walk to the town centre, a 2 minute walk brings you to the beach opposite the Isle of Arran. The Berkeley was bought 4 years ago and has since been a labour of love for family and friends to transform the grand old house into a small hotel, being a listed building it was important we retained its Georgian style yet bringing the property in line with today's safety regulations and modern day living. The first phase now complete and now welcome resident guests who are looking for that little extra at affordable prices. The guest rooms are all individually designed and no expense has been spared using top quality classical furniture, furnishings and top quality linen. Rooms are en-suite and both cosy and comfortable with a sense of style and benefit from Flat screen TV, DVD, radio/alarm, hairdryer, complimentary 24hr. WiFi connection, welcome tray, bottled water newspaper, bathrobes, slippers, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Ayrshire is an ideal base from where you can explore the lowlands West coast and borders and has retained a wealth of precious in-heritance from Castles, historic buildings, cottages to caves.
