We have just restored two stone 17th-century casali (farmhouses) in our 130-hectare organic olive oil-producing estate, 20 Km from Perugia. The two houses are called Fontanelle and Molinella. They have been divided into 8 apartments of different sizes, that can accommodate up to 35 guests. The area, on the hills that surround Lake Trasimeno, is very beautiful, and very interesting from a cultural point of view. Its strategic location is ideal for pleasant day-visits to mediaeval castles and hamlets in the area, the Lake Trasimeno, and towns such as Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Perugia, just to name a few. Our estate is surrounded by other large properties, so there is nothing to spoil the views: ancient olive trees, casali, oak woods, hills and valleys; however, the area is also very well served and easy to reach. Fontanelle, at almost 500 m. a.s.l., enjoys stunning views of the valley below. There are 5 apartments + a large, 70-sqm common room with a living room, fireplace, kitchen, dining area, card tables, books, games and DVDs for children. Molinella is an ex-water mill surrounded by oak woods. It is formed by three independent houses built on a slope near a stream. There are panoramic swimming pools with outside showers, furnished terracotta-paved terraces, barbecue areas and well-kept gardens in both of the casali. Within our property and in the area there are many trails that you can walk or mountain bike. Friendly, bilingual Italian/American owners available to assist any foreign guests and give you our suggestions on interesting places to visit (and our favourite restaurants!). Nice home-made breakfast made with local products. Activities for children can be organised, a babysitting service and help for the preparation of meals may also be provided.
