One of Ireland's most luxurious five star hotels is located in the Belfast's Cathedral Quarter one of Belfast's most fashionable areas with many shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The Merchant boasts one of Belfast leading restaurants set in a spectacular atrium with historic plaster work creating a unique atmosphere. The main restaurant adjoins one of the Belfast's most exclusive bars popular with city's elite and trendy crowd. The second more informal restaurant is ideal for those looking for a more stylish traditional bar serving food and beverages. The building was formerly the head quarters of the Ulster Bank and is a low rise semi classical grey building that was built when Belfast was one of the most prosperous cities in Europe.
