Ounce House is sited at the high point of one of the finest residential streets in the centre of Bury St Edmunds that loveliest of English Towns. Built as a merchant's house around 1870, this spacious family home, now with ample parking for cars, reflects Victorian elegance. Why not try Jenny Pott's famous scambled eggs with locally sourced bacon, or smoked salmon! The town boasts many fine buildings and features including the Cathedral with its fabulous new Tower, the Theatre Royal, the only Regency Theatre in the country, the Abbey Gardens with the ruins of the medieval Abbey, lots of individual shops in the old town and brand the brand new shopping develpment arc with a large cinema, and a range of restaurants, all within a few minutes walk, which we can recommend and book for you. Bury has a very successful Music Festival in May and well established Christmas Market at the end of November.
