The Pousada de Estremoz - Rainha Santa Isabel Hotel is a luxury hotel in Portugal, and one of the main historic sites in the town of Estremoz, in the Alentejo region. Estremoz is known as a marble town due to the fact its squares, fountains and palaces were almost exclusively built using marble. As this Pousada hotel is situated within Estremoz Castle, in the fortified upper town, it enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding Alentejo plain and the lower town. A popular market is held here every Saturday in Rossio Square, providing the perfect excuse to buy some renowned local cheeses, made with ewe's and goat's milk.
