Greensboro is in the American state of North Carolina and best known for its large, open, green spaces. It lies close to the hills of North Carolina's Piedmont and is close to the Great Smoky mountains and Atlantic beaches.

The best part of Greensboro for tourists to explore is downtown, known for its culture, performing arts scene and unique shopping experience. It is home to the Carolina Theatre of Greensboro, the main performing arts facility since the year 1927 and including performances by the likes of the Greensboro Ballet and the Greensboro Youth Symphony. The Eastern Music Festival, each summer, attracts over 100 performances, including new and aspiring artists and shows. Another popular place for visitors in Greensboro is the Four Seasons Town Center, which is a large complex including a shopping mall and various hotels. The Joseph S. Koury Convention Center draws in large scale exhibitions and conventions and is the largest of its kind between Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, D.C.

The Greensboro Coliseum, known for more hotels and events is less than a mile from the Four Seasons Town Center. Between these two places stands the Atlantic Coast Conference Hall of Champions. The highest building in Greensboro is the Lincoln Financial tower (also called the Jefferson-Pilot Building) and from here the many green spaces are visible.
