Karpacz is a town in the Karkonosze Mountains in southwestern Poland. It's known as a ski resort. An early-20th-century dam controls the Łomnica River running through town. Perched above Karpacz is the 12th-century Wang Church, transplanted from Norway. Nearby is an entrance to the Karkonosze National Park, with its peaks and lakes. The Polish-Czech Friendship Trail, straddling the countries' border, passes the area.
