The pub was in the Beech family for a hundred years. The pub also boasts that Jane Austen herself was known to frequently visit the guest house-in search of inspiration for one of her many books no doubt! Recently restored and refurbished - the Chequers today offers good ales and wines and surrounds itself with local wild flowers and the smell of good, traditional European cooking. |
