Panama does offer other attractions; however, and here are a few that visitors should keep in mind: Shell Island is off the coast and great for sight sightseeing and enjoying the natural beauty. One can swim with the dolphins, relax on the sand, and be removed from mainland tourist beaches. The Shell Island shuttle can take visitors over. St. Andrews Park is an unspoiled Gulf Coast Preserve and offers stunning soft white beaches, blue water, two fishing piers, and campgrounds and RV sites. Gulf World Marine Park is an attraction where visitors can learn about many different marine animals including dolphins, stingrays, reptiles, sea lions, and tropical birds. Captain Anderson's Marina provides many popular day trips and excursions. It is a popular choice for visitors who want to do more than just lounge on the beach. Restaurants For obvious reasons, the best places to eat in Panama City will have an array of seafood on their menu, but there are also diverse choices that can please almost any visitor. Pineapple Willies is popular in Panama City. They have Jack Daniels-based barbecue ribs and traditional seafood specials.
Captain Anderson's very popular family-style seafood restaurant is famous for their grilled shrimp and cooked-to-order steaks. Angelo's Steak Pit is a local favorite for their Hickory pit-grilled choice steaks. They have a signature sauce and wonderful Key lime and French silk pie. Saltwater Grille is very festive. It has a 25,000-gallon tropical aquarium and lobster is its star as well as other fresh fish and seafood choices. One popular dish is their macadamia-encrusted grouper. Boar's Head Restaurant and Tavern is a relaxed place to pick up local seafood dishes including baby back ribs, veal, prime rib, and many marine appetizers. Panama City is sure to please for no other reason than their beaches; yet, the motivated tourist can stay very busy with the many things there are to do in this coastal city. |
