Peterborough is an English city located in the county of Cambridgeshire, near London. It is a lively place that is proud of its past. To find out a little about this, you can visit the Flag Fen Bronze Age Centre, which is the site where archaeologists discovered Britain's oldest wheel. Another place to see is the city's cathedral, which has a fine medieval painted ceiling. The city is surrounded by some lovely natural landscape and it has open green spaces, lakes and paths by the river. Peterborough has a large number of events: the dragon boat race, the CAMRA Beer Festival, the Peterborough Festival, as well as the plays shown at the city's theatre.
